The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline is a crucial energy infrastructure project that transports crude oil and natural gas liquids (NGL) from the Azeri–Chirag–Gunashli oil field in Azerbaijan to the global market via Turkey. As one of the most significant pipelines in the region, BTC plays a key role in diversifying energy supply routes and ensuring energy security for European markets.
The BTC pipeline enhances energy connectivity, reduces reliance on alternative transit routes, and strengthens economic ties between the three nations. With its strategic location and high capacity, it remains a cornerstone of regional and global energy supply chains.
